Pandora's Box

New year, new aquisitions. Today, i purchaded three new games. The first one was published by Microsoft in 1999, and it's called Pandora's Box. Basically, it's a collection of different puzzle solving games, apparently from the creator of Tetris.

Midtown Madness 2

I've been lucky these days. Today i bought another pc game, and this time, it's sealed. Midtown Madness (the first two) are pc classics, and were developed by Angel Studios, that later become Rockstar San Diego, responsible for the Midnight Club series.

NASCAR Racing 4

My latest aquisition (after xmas) is a game that i haven't play before. In fact, i only played the first version (Nascar Racing - 1994).

This game was developed by Papyrus and published by Sierra in 2001. Like many games published by Sierra in late 90's and early 2000's, it includes a games catalog. The manual, like so many pc games in that time, is huge (over 130 pages).

Red Ghost

The last game in today's aquisition is a strategy game called Red Ghost published by Empire Interactive. I don't know much about this game, but it seems it has similar features to a personal favorite - Battlezone.

Ravage D.C.X

Oh man, all games that i bought today are very obscure. Ravage D.C.X is a rail shooter, both air and ground. 

It was developed by Rainbow Studios and published by Inscape / Warner Interactive in 1996.

I don't know nothing about this one, let's see the descritpion in the box "A botched governement experiment has left a portar open for a villainous species of space travelling vermin to infiltrate our universe and ravage (ah, the connection with title :D) everything in their path. As a rebel leader, your mission is to locate and destroy these mecanisms of doom and ultimately blast away every last alien".

Assassin 2015

Assassin 2015 is a first person shooter, developed by BlueSky Software and published in 1996 by Inscape / Warner Interactive.

This is a genre that i know well. I played so many and different first persons shooters in the 90's, but never heard about this one. That's what i like in collecting old games. 

...Althought, maybe there is a reason to never heard about this one...

There is a distinct characteristc in this game, anything you do in the game (kill someone, escape a iminent danger, etc) originates a video showing the action.

ATAC: The Secret War Against Drugs

Today i bough two very old pc games. The first one is a flight simulation published by Micropose called ATAC. I must confess, i didn't know about this one, althought i played many games from this time (i.e: F-15 Strike Eagle II, F-19 Stealth fighter).

This game has two features that i find interesting: you can pilot both planes and choppers and you fight against drugs cartels, not countries.

MechCommander 2

Today i bought two games. The second one is a real-time tactics developed by FASA Interactive, and distributed by Microsoft in 2001.

I love these games, mixing strategy and tactics. The graphics are still ok, and, like so many pc games in that time, we also have full motion video with real actors.

Today i bought two games. The first one is well known: Hitman is played in third person perspective, combining stealth and shooter elements.

Transarctica is a strategy game with elementos of exploration and adventure published in 1993 by Silmarils. I didn't play this game, althought i remeber other games published by Silmarils like the Ishar series or Ashgan - The Dragon Slayer.

Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far

Close Combat II or Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far, is a well known strategy game, published by Microsoft in 1997. Unfortunately, i didnt' play this game when it came out.

The Big Box is in bad shape, especially in the bottom corner.

Die by the Sword

Die by the Sword is played in third person perpective. It's kind of a hack and slash type game. The difference in this game, is that we move the sword with the mouse, simulating the movement. It's a little clumsy.

By the way, this game was developed by Treyarch, who later developed serveral games in Call of Duty series.
